Camper cushions can look shabby and dirty, especially if you only use your camper once a year for a few weeks. However making sure your camper is clean and welcoming will ensure you have a relaxed fun holiday.
If you decide to reupholster your camper furnishings by yourself instead of getting the assistance of a professional, remember to set aside some time to plan and prepare yourself for the task. A rushed DIY job will only look cheap and will be reupholstered in no time. Here are some tips on how to reupholster your camper cushions.
Color theme – When planning out your space, remember who will be using your camper the most. For example, if you and your family (including children) will use the camper, make sure your colors are dark, which will hide hard to remove stains and spills. Look at colors like navy, browns, and khaki for the most used furnishings. On the other hand, if you are a couple, you could opt for lighter shades of beige, off-white or cream.
Camper cushion patterns – If you want to opt for a patterned design, try to mix your patterned fabrics with solid hues to create interest and give the illusion of space. For example, you could opt for a nautical theme by mixing stripes in navy and white with solid shades of gray, navy or white.
Camper cushions – Instead of making your own camper cushions, you can buy them at your local home ware store. Remember to take one cushion with you for sizing. Since camper cushions tend to get dirty, choose a fabric that is strong and is machine washable.
RV bedding – To upholster your RV bedding, choose a fabric that is comfortable and sew in a side zip, to keep the cover in place. You should then use a sheet when sleeping on your RV bed for added protection.
